Navigator is recruiting an Event Marketing and Administration Manager to be based in our Athens office. This is a temporary position, from November 2015 – February 28, 2016, which may be renewed pending successful performance.
This is now the fifth year of Greece’s financial crisis, and the country finds itself at one of the most difficult junctures in its history. Although the Tsipras government signed the Third Memorandum and with it one of the most difficult structural adjustment programmes devised, the national fiscal situation continues to deteriorate. In no small part, this is due to a fundamental inability of the government to foster domestic and foreign investments and a climate suitable to private sector economic growth.
In these past five years, Navigator has been an active participant in the crisis, both via economic analysis (seen on our website) as well as by investment promotion and support for start-ups. Despite the extremely difficult economic situation, we have decided to launch the Athens Investment Summit as our contribution towards informing interested partners on specific investment opportunities as well as sources of finance
The Athens Investment Summit comprises three related events:
An exhibition of investment opportunities.
A conference which provides a practitioner’s view towards the investment climate in Greece. Our objective is to provide a comprehensive and detailed view of the national situation as well as the situation in specific sectors. Speakers at the conference are drawn primarily from leading investment funds, banks and company managers, who can provide a useful and practical overview of their activities and opportunities.
A match-making session in which pre-qualified investors and project sponsors are brought together
The conference will include a number of key thematic sessions, including:
Sources of Finance for Investments in Greece
Spotlight on Venture Capital and Start-ups
Spotlight on European Union Funding
Investment Structuring and Risk Analysis in Greece via Cyprus.
The official working language of the conference is English.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Event Marketing and Administration Manager are to:
Support the successful organisation of the Athens Investment Summit, which will take place at the Grande Bretagne Hotel on Friday, 26 February 2016.
Communicate with a wide range of potential sponsors and co-organisers to promote the event. These include chambers of commerce, development banks, investment funds, enterprises and individuals in Greece and internationally.

Support the Public Relations team and our own in-house marketing and outreach effort. This will include email and telephone communications as well as face-to-face visits and communications.
Support the management of the event itself as well as event follow-up.
This conference builds on our successful BestInvest Cyprus conference, which took place in Limassol on 18-19 October 2015.
