Business clusters and networks are a growing part of the European and international economic framework. The concept of business clusters dates to the emergence of trade-driven industrial centres during the late Renaissance and the early modern period, such as the London finance and insurance cluster or the Bordeaux wine cluster. More recently, the emergence of Silicon Valley as a centre of excellence in information and communications technology, or manufacturing hubs such as the Shenzen Special Economic Zone in China, indicate the power and scale of clusters.
In order to serve this growing sector, Navigator has launched the Business Cluster Network (BCN), on online professional networking and business intelligence platform. BCN is an outcome of the InterCom project: Internationalisation and Commercialisation Methods for Business Networks.
On BCN, clusters and networks access a state-of-the-art online community to:
Add their organisational profiles
Post and access research, articles and other resources for clusters and networks
Search for other clusters and networks for international cooperation
Add conferences, events and other news related to their activities.
Membership in BCN is free and is open to:
Business clusters
Business networks
Chambers of commerce
Sectoral associations
Universities, R&D centres and science parks
Individual consultants and researchers
