Navigator recruiting a plastics compounds and additives due diligence consultant

Our client is an international business examining the commercial and financial potential of investing in an industrial holding company producing chemical compounds and additives for the plastics industry.


This holding company is developing compounds and additives manufacturing facilities and trading platforms in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region for domestic and export sales.

The objectives of this due diligence assignment are to:

  1. Review the investment strategy and specific production planning of the compounds and  additives businesses

  2. Review and extend the business cases for the different production plants that are being developed or being considered

  3. Evaluate the medium- and longer-term market potential of these products and their downstream applications in the plastics sector

  4. Identify the major competitors in the selected compounds and chemical additive segments

  5. Identify any risks to medium- and long-term competitiveness and market potential of these products

  6. Confirm the pricing trends and values of specific chemical compounds/additives and evaluate the pricing forecast used in the investment plan

  7. Review the technical characteristics of the proposed manufacturing plant, including the selection of equipment types and capacities, and evaluate whether this is sufficient to meet the financial targets in the investment plan.

  8. Provide professional opinion on the viability of the different plastics related industries that are still in the planning stages.

The project requires travel to the GCC region and to Greece. The assignment is expected to start in October 2012 and will last for 1 month.


The successful consultant will have the following profile:

  • A degree in chemical engineering or related field

  • At least 20 years of experience in the chemical compounding and additives production/marketing business, preferably with a multinational firm

  • In-depth understanding of the global plastics industry and the special compounds/additives used in the Plastics Industry

  • Ability to draft a concise yet detailed reports in English


A confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement will be signed as part of this contract.
