Navigator Consulting has completed a feasibility study for an investment in the sports betting market in Romania.
Romania has a highly active gaming market, typically dominated by small, high-street casinos. Although reliable statistics are difficult to obtain, total gambling spend is estimated at over € 2 billion. Approximately 2.4 million Romanians gambled in 2016, while in 2015 there were 488 gambling operators active. Industry consolidation has not yet started.
Our feasibility study addressed:
Analysis of legal and regulatory process for investing in the Romanian gambling market;
Competitive analysis of existing gambling providers in different segments;
Development of a comprehensive store network and online channel offer;
Assessment and pricing of staffing, marketing and operations;
Development of an integrated financial model for sports gambling;
Risk analysis and risk mitigation strategy.
This project was implemented for an Austrian sports betting franchise.
