Navigator was selected to implement a commercial due diligence study and business plan for a leading CIS manufacturer of automotive starter batteries.
Based in Ukraine, the company has a current capacity of 3 mln units, and is investing in factory modernisation to raise output to 5 mln units. The CIS battery market is undergoing a strong rebound after the 2008-2009 financial crisis. Led by a resurgent Russian OEM market as well as aftermarket sales, the CIS automotive components sector is seeing double-digit growth in most countries.
Navigator’s due diligence will be used by an international investment bank to decide on the merits of continued investment in this sector. Among the issues to be answered are market potential, product mix strategy, pricing, distribution strategy and basic competitiveness.
Navigator is honoured to be selected for the project, which is our fifth due diligence project in automotive battery manufacturing since 2008, and our second in Ukraine after our due diligence for Westa Group in 2009-2010.
