The Greek Ministry of Tourism announced the construction of a new marina in Sithonia, Halkidiki. This will include berths for up to 44 yachts with additional mooring available on a floating breakwater.

Covering 3,660 sq.m. of land area and 18,419 sq.m. of sea, the marina will have a berthing capacity of 44 yachts of an estimated length of 8 to 25 meters. The project foresees the construction of a 64-meter-long floating breakwater to protect the vessels and increase mooring spots.
The new marina will include administration offices and accommodation facilities for its users covering 192 sq.m. It will offer lighting, drinking water and electricity supplies as well as fire protection systems and waste collection tanks.
The Greek Ministry of Tourism announced the project aims to upgrade the destination’s tourism by attracting high income travelers. The announcement made by the Ministry states that:
“This is a significant project expected to boost tourist traffic in the area of Halkidiki, a destination that attracts thousands of visitors every year from the Balkan countries and Russia, as well as domestic travelers.”
