European Consulting Network reaches 2,300 Members

Writer: Navigator ConsultingNavigator Consulting

The European Consulting Network (ECN) is an online business intelligence and professional networking platform for consultancies, experts, universities, research institutes and other organisations working on EU-funded projects.

ECN (www.ecn-eu.com) consolidates all EU project funding opportunities from the European Commission, the European Agencies, European Delegations and all other central EU sources, including programmes and projects. It is the only such source to do so, and comprises a one-stop shop for central EU funding.

In addition to European Union funding, ECN carries procurement notices from the World Bank, the International Finance Corporate (IFC), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the African Development Bank (ADB) and several other development organisations and institutions.

Besides EU funding, ECN includes:

  • Profiles of consultancy organisations and individual consultants

  • An integrated recruitment platform with recruitment notices from all EU organisations

  • A platform for subcontracting and consortium development

  • A project directory, with resources from EU-funded and other projects

  • A professional networking and messaging platform, enabling ECN members to contact each other and develop online networks of expertise.

Launched in November 2011, ECN reached 2,300 members on Thursday, 7 June, reaching a new record. ECN is well on its way to becoming a global consulting community and platform.

Free and subscription memberships are available. Anyone is eligible to join ECN.

Some interesting statistics about ECN:

  • Currently over 884 projects with a budget of EUR 3.222 billion open for tender, prequalification or at the prior information notice stage

  • Over 2,300 members

  • Over 55 corporate and individual nationalities represented. The leading members by country include Greece, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Belgium and France

  • Average 20 new members per day between April 1st and May 30th

  • Over 200 websites scanned every week for recruitment and procurement notifications

  • An innovative Tender Tracking List and Procurement Statistics, enabling every member to monitor their EU tenders and assign responsibilities across their company.

ECN was developed by Navigator Consulting Group partners Philip Ammerman and Pambos Solomonides. Starting in October 2010, technical development of the ECN website and networking platform took 11 months to complete. A beta version was released in September 2011; full market launch occurred in November 2011.

ECN is currently in the early growth stage, and the partners are seeking funding to develop a range of additional products and services. For more information, please contact:
