Philip Ammerman and Dr. Lassaad Mezghani completed a 3-day training course in Bucharest on behalf of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
Part of the Grow Your Consulting Business training series, the EBRD Managing a Consulting Business course helps consultants learn how to make their business more effective, competitive and profitable, from reaching out to new client groups, to managing talent and resources.
The course focused on practical tools and foundational work for managing a successful consulting business. The training objectives included:
Defining personal and professional long term goals;
Management Consulting Competency Framework and using it as a benchmark for professional development;
Starting consulting business as a strategy for achieving professional goals;
Undertaking the inventory of personal competencies;
Defining the consulting product/service;
Defining the target market for consultancy services;
Designing Value Propositions;
Defining the partners;
Designing the key company activities;
Defining resources;
Establishing proper client relationships;
Selecting the most appropriate marketing and selling channels;
Costing and pricing consulting services.
In addition to the EBRD-provided curricula, Navigator contributed customized training modules on:
Strategic management and decision making for consultancies
Marketing positioning and developing authority
Online marketing for consultancy organisations
Financial management of projects, practices and portfolios, based on our Effective Daily Rate / Cash Flow Cycle methodology
Recruitment and HR planning for consultancies.
The EBRD Training includes follow-on support for the participating consultancies, which will be completed by August 2017.
