Flexible Plastic Packaging Due Diligence & Business Plan

Navigator Consulting completed a due diligence study and business plan for a EUR 75.5 mln investment and working capital loan for the largest flexible packaging manufacturer in Ukraine and the former Soviet Union.

Our due diligence responsibilities included:

• Detailed market research into downstream consumption and future demand for packaging materials in Ukraine and Russia

​

• Customer survey with 30 leading companies, including Nestle, Kraft, Mars, Obolon and others on packaging trends and forecasts

​

• Detailed competitor analysis, including technology and production capacity

​

• Detailed profit-loss, cash flow, balance sheet and KFI modelling to 2017

​

• Detailed analysis and assessment of marketing and sales operations

​

• Sales analysis by product categories, regions and customers

​

• Risk analysis and mitigation planning

​

• Macroeconomic reviews.

 

The products covered included:

• PE and PP films.

​

• Corona-treated and metallised films

​

• Co-extruded PP-based white or metallised BOPP film

​

• PETG-based co-extruded white or metallised film

​

• Barrier films with foil substrates, including interlayer print and metallization.

​

• Vacuum thermo-formed packaging, including wrapped packages, flow-pack pouches, bags, vacuum pouches, and stand-up pouches (DOY packs).

​

• Laminated pouches, including with lockable zippers

​

• co-extruded multilayer films from different polymers: LDPE, LLDPE, m LLDPE, MDPE, PP, PA and others

​

• Self-adhesive labels

 

The project has been prepared on behalf of the manufacturer and submitted to an international investment bank for financing. The project has recently been approved and loan disbursement will start in late 2010.
