Navigator develops online training tool on Effective Business Writing and Communication in English

Navigator Consulting Partners was selected for EU co-financing under the EU Lifelong Learning Programme—Development of Innovation to develop an innovative, affordable and easily-accessible ICT based solution for the development of business writing and communication skills in English.


This project is oriented on the needs of European SMEs and their requirements for business writing, analysis and communication skills in English. The project objectives are to:

  1. Identify current trends and practices, SME’s requirements, and demand among young entrepreneurs for training and skills development in business writing and communication in English

  2. Develop and pilot a novel blended learning programme in business writing and communication in English, tailored for young SME workers and entrepreneurs in Europe

  3. Develop and disseminate training instructions, guidelines and strategic recommendations for SMEs, higher education institutions (HEI) and vocational education and training (VET) providers and educators, social partners and training organisations that want to incorporate the training course on business writing and communication in English within their formal curricula, competence development and appraisal practices;

  4. Establish a social networking platform that increases visibility at European level of skills in business writing and communication in English obtained by young SME employees and entrepreneurs, encouraging international mobility of profiles and ideas for business and project proposal collaborations.

The project addresses three different groups:

  1. SME employees and entrepreneurs in need of soft skills such as business writing and communication in English;

  2. SMEs, HEIs and VET providers and educators in need of high quality material for teaching, training and competence assessment in their everyday work;

  3. European decision makers responsible for the implementation of the Green Paper 'Entrepreneurship in Europe' issued by The European Commission and the policy makers drafting the Europe 2020 strategy.

Navigator’s role within the Project is to support the development of the ICT tool and online training programme by researching current practices and programmes at national level, conducting interviews with experts and target ICT users, editing the manual and online course as well as monitoring the e-learning process.


The Project’s deliverables include:

  • A blended training course (manual self – learning and e-learning), trainer guidelines and strategic guidelines for the stakeholders;

  • 50 articles to online journals;

  • 20 internships, traineeships or proposals for business & project development collaborations established;

  • One dissemination conference and 1 international networking workshop;

  • One international networking workshop.
